Endicott Estate is a gorgeous wedding venue! I had been wanting to photograph a wedding at this beautiful estate for a while, and the opportunity came, thanks to another photographer. She referred this wonderful couple to me earlier this year, and I was so excited they asked me to be there!

This sweet couple, Nikki and Derek, was on their way to New England from the Chicago area, so planning it from afar for a while. I’ve had quite a few couples lately who were living outside New England for all or some of their planning, so choosing great vendors is key! And communication! I always like to check in with my couples from time to time, see how things are going, and offer any assistance, if needed.

The day began at the gorgeous estate. I was with the bride, as my second, Leah, hung out with the guys. The bride wanted a classic Art Deco/Great Gatsby  feel to her dress. She absolutely nailed it. It was probably one of the most stunning dresses I’ve seen. The detail of the lace and stonework were perfection. And she looked so gorgeous in it!

Nikki wanted to do a “First Touch”. Rather than a “First Look”, where the couple sees each other before the ceremony, with a First Touch, the couple just reaches around a corner or door to touch hands, say hello, read notes to each other, or any combination of that. It’s a sweet way to “see” each other before the ceremony, without actually seeing each other!

The ceremony was in a beautiful church, that had these gorgeous chandeliers. It made for some lovely images, and a great spot for formals, as the rain kept us mostly inside.

When we returned to Endicott Estate, I made full use of the covered drive and porch, as the rain was not cooperating. Thankfully Nikki and Derek were game for heading out with an umbrella so we could get some shots of just the two of them outside, in front of the estate.

We returned inside to get ready for introductions, and the reception to begin! It was highlighted by some fantastic speeches, but the highlight was surely the performance on ukulele by Derek’s sister. She was amazing!

Thank you both so much for having me, you two!

Enjoy some favorites from the day, and the slideshow at the end!
