I first met Mary and Mike almost two years ago, when they contacted me to meet with them to discuss their wedding photography. I was still pretty new to the business, having only photographed one wedding on my own, but I was excited to meet them and convince them they should hire me to photograph their wedding. My first impression of them was that they were definitely in love. You know when you can see “the look” in someone’s eyes when they look at the person they love, and you can literally see it in their eyes?  I saw it with them. I also loved the way Mike made Mary laugh. When Mary laughs, you can’t help but smile. I loved them right away, and I only hoped after my presentation they would want me there to share in their day. They did!

I was excited to hear they were having their wedding in Providence, with the Ceremony at Holy Ghost on Federal Hill, and the Reception at the Renaissance Providence Hotel. I always wanted to do a wedding in Providence, with the city as a backdrop. Providence is lovely, and has such charm, it was nice to celebrate in the Capital City.

When Mary and I discussed her wedding planning, she was sure to point out that she and Mike had so many talented people around them, and many played a part in pulling together her wedding. Her brother James made the cake; Her aunt Sharon of Salon Nuovo was doing her hair; Her cousin Bianca Nastari was doing her makeup; and the wedding even brought out Mary’s crafty side! She made the card box, table numbers and Unity Candle, among other things! I love when couples take on the creative process. It makes everything that much more personal.

Their wedding day turned out amazing, and I was so thrilled to be there. I also need to thank my second shooter for the day, Nicole Chan of Nicole Chan Photography for coming in to shoot this wedding with me!

Here are some of my favorite images from the day. Thank you Mike and Mary for making this gal happy two years ago when you chose me to capture your wedding day!

Mary specifically asked for a shot of her holding her great grandmother’s mirror. I love this nod to the past, and the mirror was just lovely…

The moment when a mother sees her daughter for the first time, as a bride on her wedding day. Yes, I needed a tissue! Love.

Thank you to Nicole for getting this great shot of Mary and her father entering the church!

How’s this for a groom’s first look at his bride?!

Great shots of the girls’ bouquets, Nicole! And great job by Golden Gate Studios on all the florals!

Yeah, these girls were pretty fun!

Not to be outdone, the guys have their own ideas on how to pose!

How gorgeous are they?!

And thank goodness again for Nicole, being able to get to the venue to grab the entry details before the guests arrived! Awesome job with everything, Mary!

Another great grab by Nicole! Love this entrance shot!

Luckily I was able to grab Mary and Mike right before I headed out so I could grab the one shot I knew I wanted to have from the beginning. You can’t have a wedding across from the State House, and not get an evening shot in front of it!

And there it is! Thank you again Mary and Mike! It was so wonderful to be there. I thank you for believing in me, and trusting me with your day. I hope I made you proud, and I wish you many years of health and happiness!!
