Wedding Information and FAQ

Congratulations on your Engagement!

Once you secure your venue, you should book your photographer. I often book two years in advance. Reach out to see if your date is still available!

Before you go any further, I feel the need to point out one important thing about me and my business: ALL couples are loved and accepted here. I proudly support the LGBTQIA communities, and if you hire me, I will happily also refer you to other wedding professionals I love working with who feel the same. Love is love is love.

Here are some common FAQs which may be helpful to you!

How would you describe your “style”? That’s a great question. I personally don’t like the idea of pigeonholing myself into one style, mainly because I feel like a lot of what comes out of my camera has a lot to do with the conditions of the day, the venue, and the overall atmosphere I sense walking into an event. It also depends on the couple. Some couples prefer more candid photography, while others really like more interaction with the camera. I tend to lean towards a more photojournalistic and candid approach, while providing more traditionally posed imagery during the family formals, as these are the ones where more traditional posing is most appreciated. Having an art background, my images often reflect this aesthetic.

Can I share my Pinterest board with you? Pinterest is one of those things that can be a great tool for wedding planning. It’s helpful to organize your ideas on decor, color palettes, and even attire. But when it comes to photography, I feel that you have hired me for my photography, and not so that I can copy what has already been done. Also, on many occasions, it can be even more stressful if you have too many staged moments you want to recreate, and then the unexpected flow of the wedding day does not allow for these moments to be photographed. It’s always my thought that each wedding is unique, and special. I would rather provide you with memorable images of your unique day, and capture genuine, authentic moments between you and your spouse, and your guests, than to hurriedly try and fabricate these “moments”. Enjoy your day! I promise to be there to capture it honestly, and beautifully!

Do you have Insurance? Absolutely! In fact, there are many venues that require all vendors carry insurance, so it is imperative.

Do you include a second photographer? Unfortunately, since the pandemic, the industry has experienced some difficulties in the area of “second shooters”. I have been fortunate, but as this area is so unstable, none of my collections automatically include a second photographer, thus the collections pricing has been adjusted lower for this. Honestly, the second photographer is the first thing my clients remove from their collection to save money, so the majority of my weddings are already photographed solo, by me. If you insist on a second photographer, one can be added, but without guarantee, and you would be refunded any money paid towards a second photographer, if they do not show.

What do you shoot with? I use Canon Professional photography equipment, and have multiple backups, as well as any additional lighting or other gear that a wedding may call for.

How much do you cost? Each wedding is different, and I create a custom collection for each wedding, with most clients spending around 4595. I also offer a la carte options for shorter weddings.

Do you photograph Elopements? YES!! I love intimate weddings, and would love to discuss!

Do you photograph Destination Weddings? Absolutely! In fact, I have a few select locations where I wish to photograph a wedding, and have special rates for this.

What if you haven’t photographed at my venue? I have either photographed or been a second photographer at most venues in Rhode Island and Boston, and a few others in surrounding areas. If I haven’t photographed at your venue, I’m sure I can show you examples from a similar venue, or, if you desire, I could do a walk through with you at your venue.

How far in advance should I book you? Ideally, as soon as you book your venue, you will want to secure your photographer. I often get inquiries two years in advance, so my calendar can fill up quickly. You will want to book as soon as you have your date secured. Contact me to see if I have your date available!

What do you mean when you talk about supporting local small businesses? I truly believe in supporting fellow local small business owners and entrepreneurs. As part of my business model, I try to incorporate their goods and services into the goods and services I offer my clients. For example, a local designer and manufacturer creates all my presentation sleeves for my prints and albums. Also, my metal wall art and fine art prints are printed locally, by a family owned lab. So when you hire me, you are not only supporting my small business, but others as well.
