A few months back, I received a referral from a fellow photographer. Her friend was getting married, and she was lucky enough to be a guest, so I was honored and thrilled to be referred to photograph the wedding! There really is no greater honor than being referred by a fellow wedding colleague! Once I got on the phone with the bride, my excitement grew. This couple was planning a wedding that was gong to incorporate some beautiful cultural and spiritual elements important to each of them. The bride wanted to celebrate her Jewish faith, while also celebrating the groom’s Chinese heritage. . It was to be held at the State Room in Boston, which features some amazing views! But the highlights of this wedding were to be the Ketubah signing, on a gorgeous ketubah designed by a friend of the bride, and a wonderfully traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony, as a tribute to the groom’s heritage. There were so many awesome elements throughout, including the bride’s tea ceremony dress, gorgeous tea service, a beautiful handheld chuppah during the Jewish ceremony, and the three members of the bride and groom’s families, who played the piano during cocktail hour. And then there was the awesome band. The bride and groom often went to see The Chicken Slacks play at the Cantab Lounge in Boston on Thursdays, so when they were getting married, they knew they had to have them. And they didn’t disappoint! From a soloist during the ceremony, to keeping the crowd hopping during the ceremony… good choice! Such a fantastic wedding, at a spectacular location, with a gorgeous couple. What could be more wonderful than that? Take a moment and enjoy some of my favorites from this wedding. And show the couple some love, while you’re at it! Congratulations you two!!
