What a wonderful and wild Foster Country Club wedding this was! The weather forecast was up and down in the days leading up to the wedding. That did not improve that day. Up until the last minute we were unsure if the ceremony would be inside or out. Finally, my amazing bride made the decision: “I don’t care if it’s just the two of us, under the gazebo, let’s do it outside!”
Throwing caution to the actual wind, and rain, we decided to roll with it! After moving the musician to a better protected area, we let the guests know that the ceremony would be happening outdoors, and they were welcome to join us. If they didn’t mind getting wet, that is To my delight, these guests were just as carefree as the couple, and they grabbed their umbrellas, and headed outside.
With the rain coming down, surrounded by loved ones and their colorful umbrellas contrasting the sublimely darkened sky, this fantastic couple said their vows under the gazebo, surrounded by those most dear. I shed a few tears while photographing, and balancing my favorite large umbrella over me and my gear. It was perfect. It was them.
As guests headed inside for cocktail hour, the couple and I headed out for portraits, and we got just enough reprieve from the rain. The venue has a beautiful covered bridge on the property. What is more New England than that? It also had some lovely wildflowers, that were perfectly in bloom. We had the good fortune of having one of their golf carts to help zip around. Check out the groom showing off his balance and bouquet holding skills!
We had to wait for a little clearing in the weather to take family portraits. But Mother Nature decided she wasn’t done with us yet, and the rain began again. Thank goodness for the giant trees to quickly run under!
Once inside for good, and with a chance to dry off, my couple was ready to enjoy the rest of the evening together, surrounded by friends and loved ones.
Thank you both so much for having me! Enjoy some of my favorite images!
